Using the Bricks kits
Every kit is a set of native Bricks templates (.json files). You import them once, then insert them on any page and edit them in Bricks like your own work.
What you need
- WordPress 6.4 or newer and Bricks 2.0 or newer (tested on 2.4.2). No other plugins.
- The templates use only native Bricks elements: no custom code, no global classes, no third-party add-ons.
Import the templates
- Download the kit from your email or your account and unzip it. The templates are in the
templates/folder. - In WordPress, go to Bricks → Templates and click Import. Choose one or more .json files. Import up to about 20 files at a time: many servers refuse bigger uploads, so bring a large kit in two or three groups.
- The templates now appear in your template list, ready to insert.
Add a section to a page
- Open the page with Bricks.
- Open the Templates panel (folder icon in the toolbar) and find the section.
- Click the insert icon. The section is added to the page, ready to edit.
Set a site header or footer
- Import the header or footer as above. Its template type is already Header or Footer.
- Edit the template with Bricks, open Settings → Template Settings → Conditions and add Entire website.
- Save. A more specific condition on another header (one page, the front page, an archive) wins over Entire website.
The menu shows your WordPress menu (Appearance → Menus). Sub-items become dropdowns, and on tablets and phones the menu turns into a mobile menu.
Build a page from a landing kit
Each landing page comes with its matching header and footer in templates/theme-builder/.
- Import the landing page template, and the header and footer with the same number.
- Set the header and footer for your site as shown above.
- Create a page, open it with Bricks and insert the landing template.
- Change the text, swap in your own images and set where the forms send their messages.
Colours, fonts and menus
- Your site stays untouched. Every design sets its own colours, fonts and spacing on its elements, so importing it never changes your theme styles, colour palette or global classes. Change any value in the Bricks panel.
- Fonts are Google Fonts. If you have turned Google Fonts off (Bricks → Settings → Performance), the designs fall back to a system font.
- Images: the designs use no photos. Visual blocks are made from native elements, so you can keep them or swap in an image.
- Logos are an icon plus text so they follow your colours. Replace them with the Logo element if you prefer an image.
If something goes wrong
- The import is refused: import fewer files at a time, or raise your server's upload size limit.
- The header doesn't show: check its conditions, and whether another header template has a more specific condition.
- The live site looks different from the editor: clear your caching or optimisation plugin's cache.
- Forms don't arrive: set the form's email actions, and make sure your site can send email (an SMTP plugin helps).
Licence and updates
Use the kits on unlimited websites, your own and your clients'. You can't resell or share the templates themselves. Updates are free for life and appear in your account. See the full licence.
